Our Story of Tomrover

Warm greetings to all and welcome to tomrover.co.uk.

I am of Hungarian origin from our beautiful capital Budapest. Since my early childhood I had a dream to become a travelling ambassador like dad. The family extensively travelled around the world and lived for 11 years altogether in India and Indonesia. After graduation I worked at various international trading companies in Budapest. Finally I got a job as an international department officer. And later was promoted to a sales executive at a Foreign Trade Company. I concluded export deals for the company travelling extensively to Europe, India and Japan.

In 1990 the Berlin Wall fell, socialism collapsed in all of Eastern Europe. A new area dawned to Hungary, too, the era of free market enterprise. With my Indian friends I formed a private company and started importing quality garments from India. The factories were owned by the family of the majority shareholder. After 3 years of operation the company had to be closed down due to constant delays in shipment from my partners.

I opened a stall at a market place selling garments. The business went well for a couple of years. Then I started a new, teaching and translation business. It prospered for a couple of years.

In 2000 my wife and I got an invitation to introduce the Alpha Course, a British Christian Educational Method in the Hungarian Church and Hungarian speeking Churches in the neighbourhood. We decided to give up our prospering business and took up the Alpha project. I had been director for 8 years.

In 2008 we got a new challenge. We were offerred as marketing and programme managers to boost the revenue of a Training Centre of a Charity. By the second year the rate of overall utilization of the facilities of the training centre rose from 20% to 60%. It was another success story.

After a while the charity faced financial hardships. My wife got a job abroad  and our family relocated to the beautiful West Coast of England. I started my own business, retail and direct sale of Hungarian fusion glass gift items.

Unfortunately after the holiday season the market plummetted and I fell seriously ill for a long time. I had to give up my business plans for a while

Then I worked as Brand Ambassador for field marketing companies e.g Mark and Spencer and Sainsbury’s.

When personal computers were introduced in my company at the end of the eighties I was among the first ones to figure out how they replace manual work. I have always been fascinated by new computer technology. I came across online marketing while working for the training centre. I fell in love with the method at first sight. Seeds of plans to start my own online marketing business have been sown.
